This is the sound of Felicity Ford’s woollen clothes drying in the Estonian sunshine. Her woolly sweater, tights and base-layer trousers hang between two trees just outside of MoKS. It is the first sound recording which Felicity has made which explores “wool in the Estonian countryside” although the provenance of these textiles is only partially known:
Sweater, 100% Merino, purchased from UniQlo in 2009 – origins of wool unknown*
Fallke Soft Merino tights, 55% Virgin Wool, 28% Cotton, 15% Polyamide, 2% Elastane, purchased from House of Fraser, 2012 – origins of wool unknown
Icebreaker Everyday Legging – 100% Merino, originated in the Southern Alps of New Zealand
*although it was dyed dark brown using walnut hulls from the black walnut tree outside St Mary’s Butts, Reading
