Today’s sound was recorded by Paul Whitty in Venice, Italy, and features ropes straining on the Vaporetto on the Grand Canal.

Today’s sound is taken from the volcanic landscape of Solfatara, at Pozzuoli, Italy. The sound is of very hot, sulphurous steam escaping through a crack in the earth’s surface in a volcanic crater and was recorded by Felicity Ford.
